Just prior to setting up the company, Alan Hillary, as event manager, was instrumental in the huge success of the first visit of the Tall Ships Race to Tyneside, which attracted half a million visitors.
The NE1 Motor Show in Newcastle is one of our events; this attracts over 110,000 car enthusiasts.
Also in the north east, the first ever Northumbria Food Festival, held in Baltic Square, attracted an amazing 20,000 visitors.
An event doesn’t need to be big to be beautiful.
We’re specialists in creating spaces within spaces and can incorporate the theme you wish to convey into the architecture or set design. Industrial spaces have been transformed by us into unrecognisable, extravagant theatre-style auditoria.
For example, during our dramatic theatrical reveal of the legendary Hawker Sea Fury fighter plane, several former pilots were visibly moved, and it was so successful that BAE asked us to re-enact it fourteen times more for their employees.
Launches & Openings
From midnight openings at the Baltic Centre for Contemporary Art to serving a Roman lunch in the middle of nowhere, we’ve shown creative flair and a real feel for dramatic settings time and time again.
We’ve unveiled several new models of Nissan car, countless Newcastle United strips and Hadrian’s Wall Path National Trail. The latter was on a huge scale: two simultaneous events seventy five miles apart – at each extreme of Hadrian’s Wall – with the Roman-themed gala lunch at its central point. Most recently, the team worked with Gateshead College to officially open their new £39 million Baltic Campus.
CREATING THE SPECTACULAR
Through our award-winning sister company; Reaction Fireworks, we can paint the sky and provide a spectacular closing to any event.
Possessing vast experience in organising concerts, we can arrange and manage the whole event for you. Our credits include: three BBC Proms in the Park, UB40, Leslie Garrett, Jamie Cullum, Graeme Danby, Susannah Clarke, The Northern Sinfonia and numerous tribute artists. We pull together the following elements for you:
Stage, PA, lighting, artists and orchestras.
Stewarding, security, toilets and catering.
Wider support like ticketing, programme design and print.
Specialist event marketing
We also act as the contact at Safety Advisory Group meetings and produce all the relevant safety documentation such as operational manuals and risk assessments.
A family day is a great way to promote staff morale and motivation.
AH Events have been organising Family Days for our ever-expanding client base for many years. Nissan UK continue to use us along with Samsung, Mono Containers, Sutton Bridge Power Station and BAE, whose event includes an Air Show and attracts upward of 24,000 visitors.
As well as designing the programme of events and the showground layout, we handle infrastructure, contract and oversee suppliers (PA, staging, catering, toilets, etc.), organise marketing material and manage the day on-site. Once it’s all over, we take care of the safe, efficient de-rig.
A festival can take many forms but is always something that brings people together to celebrate or enjoy something in common.
AH Events have successfully delivered hundreds of such festivals and mass participation occasions many of which have developed into recognised annual events including:
Music festivals from small intimate ‘Party in the Park’ type gatherings to large scale all-weekenders and rock festivals.
Food and beer festivals.
Street performer, comedy and circus festivals.
Winter festivals, parades and Christmas light switch-on events.
Cultural, community, arts and historical festivals.
